Here's the pic, number 13 and 14 are the one's i'm talking about, it's not the flywheel, but there the only dowl pins involved.

 

I think they are the alinment dowls for the bell housing to engine adapter. Pete

 

yea, i think so to. Do they stay in the adapter when you remove the bellhousing, or are they easy to fall out? Just in case I run into that when I do the swap.

 

No, they stay in the adapter and as far as I know they don't come out easy. Pete

 

I've had them stay in the adapter, and come out in the bell housing. a drift from the back side of the bell housing will knock it out easy and a deadblow with a few light taps will reseat it in the adapter no troubles.
