Should I see some blow-by out tube?
Hey guys,

I have 162,000 mile on my 97 3500. I know that someone used the truck to "hotshot". (the mileage went up 100,000 miles in two years according to the vin search and regestration data) Anyway, the question is this. I Have run my truck under varying conditions-camper on and off, and I see absolutely no blow-by comming from the draft tube. With that many miles, is that possible? Did someone have this apart? I don't really see any oil useage either. (now that I've sealed up my Vac pump leak
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my CTD! I guess it would be nice to know. Anyway, thanks.

If this is normal, dang these trucks are tight!

TJ

Re:Should I see some blow-by out tube?
219,000 on my 94 and no blow by out the tube, nice and dry too. I have allmost 4000 miles since I changed the oil and filter, the oil is still nice and clean. I've never seen anything like it before. All other diesels that I have seen, the oil gets real black and dirty looking fast. This has been on mostly skidders, heavy equipment and bigger trucks. My father in-laws Duramax gets black with in 1000 miles since it was new. We've all heard the stories about the Powerstrokes getting dirty too. Are all these Cummins like this?
