shifting too early

sometimes when I take off it tries to take off in 2nd gear. I can manually downshift into 1st. going through a parking lot slow in Drive it will act like it is trying to shift back and forth between 1st and 2nd. Any one else ever had this problem?

My truck did this but I had an aftermarket valve body put in and it stopped doing it. I don't really know why but it did.

Replacing the governor pressure sensor and governor pressure solenoid should fix the 2nd gear starts. Worked on my stocker. Looking about about $200 in parts, from the dealer.

Or about $130 from any transmission supply house. Check your yellow pages. Just make sure they sell new parts.

You might want to check your Throttle Valve cable adjustment before you throw any money at it. An honest transmission shop could diagnose the problem and probably save you money in the long run. Good luck with it.

would the pressure sensor also make it shift into 3rd and 4th early too? I try to stay off of the pedal a little on take offs, but I am propably in 4th gear at about 28-30mph, and 3rd at about 15mph. Does this sound too early?
