I have an Amsoil single that I brought over from my PSD. I like the longer change intervals- I get about 12,000- 15,000 miles on rotella syn. Have not hooked it up yet though. Had the tab to do, the 3gsk next then rear brake cylinder.

Another reason I went to a by pass system was how much used oil I was ending up with. Considering the only problem with it was being dirty it seemed keeping it clean until the additives gave out made sense.
If I ran Amsoil I'm sure I'd get much longer service from a change than the rotella syn. I may do this since my CTD burns almost no oil whereas the PSD went through 2 quarts every 3000 miles.

Still have to change the stock filter as specified though- it still does/has an important job on the big stuff.

Bill, where do you have yours mounted? Do you have any photos of it?
Thanks!

Sorry no photos. It's connected to a homemade bracket that is held down by the same bolts that hold down the passenger side battery.

Is it like an "all in one" piece with the battery hold-down bracket?

No it just "shares" the hold down bolts. The mount is nothing more than two pieces of 1" angle iron welded into a 'T' with the bottom part of the T bolted onto the battery hold down. I have Optimas, which are smaller than stock and have lots of extra threads. The redtops also don't have caps, the top is flat, so the angle iron that goes over battery can be straight.

My method may not work with a stock battery.
I think Amsoil makes a bypass that mounts much the same, might want to check out their website.
