So my dad and I just bought an old 12v, I'm not sure what year it is, but its 2wd with 330,xxx miles for.....$500. would you all call that a deal or what? oh yeah, its bone stock and pretty much all highway miles for a foreman driving from jobsite to jobsite. I'm hoping its at least a 96. We're going to pick it up tomorrow. I'll let you all know what year it is.

Well fellas, it just so happens to be that the people we bought it from didn't know if it would run or not. They said it hadn't been started in 2 years. We put jumpers on it, hit the starter, and it turned over and started better than my 96 with 128,000 on the odo. We're kind of thinking conversion at this point.... Any ideas?

Well for all you HATERS, I'm hating that my dad's buddy got the other one they had for $100. Oh yeah, I helped him get that one running and all i had to do was get the batteries charged and prime it. Unfortunately for him and my dad, they both have powerstrokes so they didn't know anything about the 12valve goodness until i got my 96'. Now we're just trying to figure out what to put the beast in. Ideas?

I now officially wish I would have NEVER read this thread.................... Around here, any of those trucks would start at 5K and go up from there.

Good buys guys!

I'd say 5k is a minimum - around Peoria, likley 6k or better.
