Rear axle oil seal

My 96 is leaking gear oil into one of it's rear brake assemblies. How involved is it to change the seal on it. It's an automatic so I'm guessing it's a Dana-70 but not sure. thanks in advance for any help, cd

It's a very easy job.
There are some excellent instructions here for trucks with rear disc brakes.
Drums aren't much different, in fact they are easier.

You will need a 2-9/16" axle nut socket, most auto parts have them for a decent price.

And do yourself a favor....If you find a deep groove where the seal goes..Spend the $80 and get two speedy sleeves...I screwed around with cheap and expensive seals and it still leaked because I was being cheap...After wreaking a couple of $10 and $20 seals, brake pads and the time to take things apart...I learned to do it right the first time....
