Re-occuring front main failure?????

When I bought my truck I knew the front main was shot but wasn't stressed as I wanted to get the kdp tabbed anyway. So while I was having a couple of other things done I had BD power in Abbotsford fix. Great killed two birds with one stone.... then a few months later notice oil leak again. After running a diagnostic
dye it was the same bloody front main leaking so do the 5 hour round trip again to bd who grudgingly did the warranty work. Front main looked torn like the tech just shoved it on there or something.... and now what do you know it is still leaking from the same location. I am going to steam clean it again and run the dye to make sure
Could the drive shaft have enough play to wreck the seal that quickly or are BD power that incompetent???? I really can't be bothered to waste another day with them at any rate but this is taking the ****
Please help!!!

Sounds like I should have taken the truck to PDR all along(and they're closer to me ).... anyone have a preferred shop in the vancouver BC area???

We are talking about the front Crank seal right? It should have absolutly NO play in it , at all , ever. It is possible there is a groove worn in it , or a scratch , something that is ruining the new seals, You can buy a wear sleeve from cummins to press over the end of the crank , and start with a new smooth surface.

BD is a top notch outfit, I'd be surprised if they missed something especially the second time.
Beside what JKM mentioned the dampener could also be shot causing a little wobble.

If BD were so great then why do they fob me off with BS answers like saying my
4kgsk springs are not adjustable(they installed them!) and what about them saying that a bad rear timing cover seal(?) or is that rear main? makes the front
main seal fail.... Sounds odd and is it true or did they just want me to spend $ to have the other seals done( a mere 16 hours parts and labour )
They've blown me off and not finished a job off twice knowing I was stranded 2 1/2 hours from home or facing another 5 hour round trip another day when they can "fit me in their busy schedule".... Then there was the time they tried to convince me to replace my IP because of a fuel issue.... (see thread 'weird power issues.....' in this forum)
I think they are too preoccupied in getting trucks out the door asap to get the next one in to really take the time they should on a vehicle. I guess they are a victim of their own success as far as having good staff and getting greedy is concerned. Either way I won't go back to them again....
