just went through the directions on the kdp and the only thing im questioning is the hydrodynamic lip seal (shaft seal). has this given anyone trouble? or will i be able to figure it out once i have everything torn apart?

 

When I did mine; I put the plastic install tool into the seal then placed the whole mess over the shaft versus placing the tool on the shaft and putting the installed seal over it. It took about 4 hours to do my first KDP and only 2 hours to do the second. I did purchase one of those fan clutch tools in between the two jobs---made things quite a bit quicker.

 

yea, the little plastic installer thing helped out. Just slide it over the crank, and push the cover and new seal over the lip. Works great.
