YOU CAN PUT IT EITHER PLACE JUST REMEMBER THAT THERE WILL BE ROUGHLY 300 DEGREES DIFFERANCE BETWEEN THE 2 SPOTS THE MANIFOLD WILL READ 1200 THEN THE PIPE OFF THE TURBO WILL READ 900.JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN ISTALLING YOUR PROBE. I DONT THINK IT WOULD MATTER WHICH SPOT IT WENT. I KNOW MOST OF THE BIG HIGHWAY TRACTORS HAVE THEM AFTER THE TURBO.BUT I PERSONALLY LIKE IT IN THE MANIFOLD JUST BEFORE IT GOES ON TO THE BACK HOUSING.JUST MY 2 CENTS

If you want a gauge that tells you the truth put it pre turbo.
I've seen the post turbo temps be as much as 500° different than pre.
It becomes a mathematical guessing game post turbo.
Why have to think about it?

Put it here
