Putting Leaf springs in the front

Sorry I know that this has been asked before. but I searched and cant find it. has anyone actually put leaf springs in the front of there 94-02 dodges? my friend is having trouble with his frontend and wants to convert to leafs up front to get rid of the junky track bar and the rest of it. I was thinking some late model superduty springs would do the trick. any suggestions or pics of one completed would be gladly appreciated
thanks
Jason

it would be a royal pain you will also need to mount spring hangers front and rear. get rid of all the stuff on the front axle for the coil spring 5 link setup or find an axle without them. then you have to get the spring perches setup properly to get the correct driveline angle and alignment settings.
It can be done but it will not be an easy undertaking

Man, you don't want to do that. You would squeak and creak like every Ferd out there. I haven't heard one yet that didn't sound terrible.

Just my 2 cents though...

This will give you an idea of what is involved. Coil springs ride way better than leaf springs especially when you do a suspension lift.

I can't see that it would be that hard to do. Leaf spring and shackle hangers are easy to make. If you space them right you could use the bump stops that are about 30" apart on your axle as the spring perches, you would just have to put a hole in the center of them. I'm about to try to put an '01 dodge dana 60 under my '96 SAS Chevy like that. Setting caster is just a matter of shims if it's not set right.

Be careful with shims. I have seen them come out and ruin a day or 2

I build these for a living.

No way I'd take the time to put leaf springs under a dodge. Unless it paid well.
