putting a cummins in a chevy
putting a cummins in a chevy
just another converted chevy fan here, new to the list.

I'm building a custom c/k body style 4door short bed chevy with a cummins in it. I have a recked 94 dodge with all good running gear. So I was planning on putting all the dodge running gear into the chevy.

The main question I have is if it would be worth it to upgrade to the 24V block and head and put a mechanical pump on it, or just stay with the 12V I have and use that. Any input?
Re:putting a cummins in a chevy
You can't just "put on" a mechanical pump. I talked to a DTR member (Jetpilot) who had this done to his truck, it involves a lot of custom machine work and is very expensive. It also does not improve performance until you get above 600 hp on #2. Unless you can find a good donor truck and are good at wiring, you should stick with your current plan - which sounds like a good one.

Ahhh, good input! I was under the impression that it was a bolt on replacement. Now I see the error of my ways.

I've heard of this JETPILOT guy before. How do I get in contact with him?

Thanks again for your input.
