Please help with 1995 12 v head gaskit

Been around here but never posted till tonight . I have a 1995 didge 2500 , 12 v , 3200 gsk, # 10 plat, 16 cm ex housing , Goerend TQ , Goerend VB , stainless ex , turbo back .

Today popped a head gaskit ( water in oil ) plan is remove head , install arp studs . Question is do I need a valve job or just get head surfaced ? Stock cummins gaskit or is there a better one ? I build race cars and build my own race engines for my offshore race boats but never been in a Diesel . Are there any surprises I'm in for ?

Also bought a set of Stage two injectors from Dynomite Diesel , did I waste my $570 ?

there are 2 plugs in the under side of the cowl. feel up in there with ur hand to find them and remove them. they are there so you can pull push rods. w o them out it makes it a bit of a to remove head. if the heads at the machine shop why not have the valves checked anyway. better now than later when one might fail (unlikely) but possible. Nice lookin truck BTW

Thanks you so much !! As far as pushrods no issue there , truck has 3 inch body lift ( only 2 wd ) truck has 150 k , I was just going to get resurfaced , I dont want to open a can of worms ,and my machine shop agrees , what do you think ? Is this failure common with stock turbo ?

How many miles on truck? are you running stock boost pressures? do you know what exactly caused the HG failure yet?

150 k . Not sure yet as I have to remove head today 8-31-11 . It was never overheated . Going with head studs . Can anyone tell me the short answer on which thickness gaskit to use ? and since I'm using ARP studs what will be the new TQ setting ?

where did you get those mirrors? I do like the looks of them. my 95 has the 4 post type and I have to remove the bolt in both mirrors and change sides every time I tow my fiver. That is a pain with setting them back up so I can see behind me. later Don

I bought them from Ebay , the seller listed them for 2001 and newer . I asked will they fit my 95 and said the wiring was diff , I had to cut my end off as I have power mirrors . I will give you a tip , make sure you order the mopar stiffener plate , where you order the mirrors will know this

Never knew A/C was an option , thought it was standard .

I bought my hunk of crap on CL for 1700 and restored it , well over restored it , was in auto resto for many yrs . Pulled the bed off , all glass out , rumble scoop tweaked to fit my stock hood , true ram air , filled bed pockets . I love my old hunk of crap and most brand x love it as well

Lenny @ Dynomite Diesel lied to me , said he would have stage 2 injectors sent out 2 days ago , anyone else had issues with this co ?? I own and operate a small marine MFG co and my word is golden , just have to find another co that wont jerk me off !!
