Pilot bushing

Has anyone tried to buy a stock or Oem Polit bushing lately? I use a luk clutch kit I last replaced it 10 years ago pulling a 10,000 lb camper. My truck all stock never had a problem with the clutch except normal wear. I ordered a new kit but the bushing has been discontinued now all I can find is some crappy needle bearing. Even the dealer can’t get it. Anyone run into this besides me

I seem to remember only seeing needle bearings used on the '94 and up manual Cummins trucks.

The '89-'93 with the Getrag most certainly used the bronze bushing.

I have been using South Bend Clutch kits that come with a new flywheel with a bearing in it already on my '89-'98 builds.

Bushing

My truck came with the bronze bushing. I changed my clutch 10 years ago it had a Luke clutch so I orderd a kit they had everything in it. This time it does not have the bushing I’ve not had a problem so far but the front seal on the trans started leaking but the clutch was bad anyway. My truck is all stock but I do pull a 5th wheel camper which is heavy. Sometime I do have a little problem backing up hill with the trailer wheel hop I have never figured out how to stop that. I have been on the phone all morning trying to find the bushing even the dealer said they can not get it. So I called jenos garage they said call standard transmission which I have dealt with before but did not think about. They have them made and will not use the ones with the needle bearings because they sometimes come apart and eat up the Polite shaft. So they are sending me one today.

get this I called the dealer to get the oil for the nv4500 3 weeks to get it at 31.00 a quart. They said I would have to buy a hole case I said no way. So he said I could get my 5 quarts and they would put rest on the shelve. I started to go with a different cheaper oil but I know to many that learned a hard lesson by so. Me for one.
