Any of you guys out there running the Outerwears prefilter on the Napa #2790 BHAF have any comments? Is it worth the money? Is it really water repellent? I have the BHAF but I don't realy like that it is completely exposed. Thanks!

 

I have one for my AFE CAI. I guess I bought it for the extra dust protection, it seems to catch quite a bit of dust. I usually just pull it off and rinse it out when it looks dusty. I guess for being under the hood and not "seeing" much water or very little during rain storms, it seems a little bit water resistant. Not going to help much if fording rivers or ponds.

I have the setup you are describing and it works fine. The reason that I run the prefilter is to prolong the life of the filter itself.

 

i run the set up as well and it works geat. i'm not sure how water repellent it is but it does help keep the main filter clear of big debre

 

Good deal! I do not plan on forging any rivers or ponds. I never get my truck off road. A little extra protection is never a bad thing. I will probably order a prefilter and stick it on there. Any other brands you guys might recommend. I saw that Amsoil sells prefilters. Any experience with those? Thanks!
