Okay cummins professionals, overheating engine with low EGT's...
Right now I am about 120 miles east of Whitehorse, near Teslin. You may be familiar with the 10% grade I wrote about. It is climbing north to the Icefield Centre on hwy 93, south of Jasper. I've encountered a few more that steep and steeper since leaving Dawson Creek, but the air was cooler.

Well, I bumped up my timing from about 14.5* to about 17* This weekend. I figured that I needed to see where I was at before I do anything else/throw more money at this heat generator.
I pulled the same load as the one previous, same hills, and had THE SAME PROBLEMS!!!
OVERHEATING ENGINE WITH CONSIDERABLY LOW EGT's (230* engine 1200-1250* EGT) and no water consumed...
I backed out of the fuel as I climbed, but still the same result.

Did your clutch fan kick on?????????
I think it is your trans dumping to much heat into the radiator. I would look into a secondary heavy duty under bed twin electric fan trans cooler to get the heat out of the cooling system..
Head gasket... maybe what does you coolant look like ? if you have exhaust getting in to the cooling system it will turn your coolant sort of a muddy color and you could be loosing water but not necessarily

How much boost are you pushing? You do realize that compressing air creates heat, right? So if you are 20 pounds or higher the intercooler is dumping highly heated air thru your radiator, and makes it pretty ineffective.
REBAL:
I have a deep BD tranny pan with an auxillary filter system. So it holds plenty of extra fluid too. I have a tranny temp guage and it doesn't even go over 200* It will hang around 175-180* with a load. Engine temps just get out of control even when I back out of the throttle to even less than half while pulling a grade. If I am pulling flat ground. No problem.
What a joke huh?
Fluid looks fresh and bright green, no H2O lost.
GAMES:
Sure I know compressing air generates heat, but isn't that what the intercooler is for?
Boost level while pulling a hill is about 20-25 psi.
***Maybe take off the wastegate cap and get a boost elbow? Any experienced advice?
