oil pressure problem

Went to Wyoming today. Before I left I added 2 quarts of oil, drove through the moutians then got on the interstate not after 15 min on the interastate oil pressure plumted to 0 and oil light came on. Pulled over not a drop of oil on the dip stick and oil was everywhere. Added 2 gal cause that all they had. Got to cheyenne did some deriving around town then she sat for pry an hour. Added 2 more quarts cause the oil was way down on the dip stick. After about 30 min on the interstate the same thing happen but this time the oil pressure light never went off or did it move of 0. Added 2 gal, went off finally. Drove it home up through the moutians only plumted once and only for about 5 sec. What is the problem. Please help

Sam
