Oil pres ???

Ok guys my 96 sits alot when I start it up it takes about 2 full secs for the oil press to come up. It just gets to me to watch the gage and no press. Is this about normal. I have changed the sending unit 2 times since I got the truck. These sending units are not very dependable. Truck has 125000 miles on it. I have had the truck since 1999. "real trucks rattle" thanks bobby

Mine also takes about 2 seconds to come up to pressure, I think its just normal for their to be a little delay in it.

Also depends on what filter you use. Most of your aftermarket filters don't have the anti-drainback flapper hold the oil up in the engine/filter area. I know my grandfathers 8.3L takes right at 3 seconds to get oil pressure with a NAPA filter(almost $70 for the last one he got I believe), but with a CUMMINS filter he had oil pressure almost immediately(but they wer around $150 for the last one he bought several years ago).
