Oil capacity??
Found it odd, in the 95 I just got there is a factory warning in the owners manual thet states " oil capacity is not 9 quarts but 11, including filter fill". My 93 takes 3 gals even to put it just below the full mark. I assumed they were all the same.

i know my 96 takes 11 quarts according to the manuel. it does not have any warnings though, on overfilling ,it just says that the truck may run a little louder with more oil in it.

I use 12 qts in my '95s. Comes out a hair above the full mark, no big deal.
Beats measuring and having a leftover quart in a gallon jug.
My manuals had the warning staped to the back page also.

Let your truck sit for 2 hours before you drain the oil so the injection pump can drain its oil. It holds about 2 quarts. If you dont have the time, leave out 2 quarts.
I always just add 3 gallons.
