OD????

OK, I have now had my truck for 2 weeks. I noticed that once in a blue moon, doing between 37 & 42 mph the tranny would shift from OD back down to third andshift right back up to OD. Well today it did it 3 to 4 times consecutively. No load, not higher than 42mph. All the gears shift pretty solid. It only does it on that part throttle mph range. If I am at full throttle tooling along it wont happen.

Is the tranny on its way out or could it be the throttle position sensor? :'(

Thanks for the help!!!
Luis

Re:OD????

Sounds alot like the TPS is starting to send a "dirty" signal. I had that problem with mine and I pulled it off and tried to spray some contact cleaner in it and it seems to be working ok now.
Tom

Re:OD????

I took a voltage reading on my TPS today. Should it go as high as 3.6V at WOT?

I then took it of and sprayed it down with WD40 and put it back on and seem to not do the OD to 3rd and 3rd to OD thing again. But I didnt drive to far. I will know in the morning when I go to work.

Thanks!!!
Luis

it's probably not your tps. probably noise in the harness. you need to rewire your tps. let me know if you need help.

Sounds like your tps is out of adjustment. Good instructions here-

don't bother adjusting the tps. i just bolt them on. your problem is noise in the wiring harness.
