occasional no start

Ever so offten my 98 will not start. I turn the key to start and all I get is one faint click. I let the key back to on, then back to start and it starts fine. Im thinking its the solenoid contact. What you do guys think it is?

A bad connection somewhere , start by feeling all connections [ positive & ground ] after trying to start , if any are warm or hot that's your bad connection .
I could be the contacts in the solenoid , but give some history of it ?

I just got the truck so i dont know much about it. It only has 82,000 on it so I would think it wouldnt be the contacts but im not sure how the truck was used in the past.

I will look for a loose connection.

Starter Relay Too

You could also have a bad starter relay. I have a 94, there is a relay box under the hood with four or five little black relays in it.
That went out on mine a few months ago. Cost about $6.00.
Check your battery connections too.
