NV4500 seals

Hi, had a question about seals on my NV4500. No, I didn't have an accident at Sea World, but do have leaking input & output shaft seals. Can I just pop the tranny out, swap seals and stuff it back in, or is there more to it than that? Special tools?

Thanks, guys!

no real special tools that I know of. but you'll probably have to get the seals from dodge none of the local parts houses or seal shops had them here. Shold be pretty staight forward. Only thing more I can think of is if you can, verify the input seal is leaking and not the rear main engine seal. that whay you can have one on hand if needed.

Pretty easy to tell SynTorq from 15-40?

Don't buy the seals from Dodge if you can help it. They are 3 times the cost of a trans supply parts house. Input seal is $2 there, over $7 at Dodge. fyi.

No special tools needed for either.

Thanks for the tech help, guys! Also thanks for the tip about that rear main seal. I should have replaced it when I installed the flywheel/clutch etc. the last time. I guess now is as good a time as any, but I still won't replace unless I do see some leakage. I already got the output shaft seal locally and it was about $9 as I recall at an auto parts store. No doubt Mopar would want 3 times that....
