NV4500 clutch suggestions for stock truck?
What does everyone suggest clutch-wise for a stock truck? I don't anticipate any mods so I don't want to by more clutch than is needed for my existing setup.
I meant to add to my earlier post:
I am torn between having a shop do the work and doing it myself. The savings in labor is the obvious advantage to doing it in my driveway, but I am concerned with the extras: resurfacing the flywheel, rear engine seal, slave cylinder, etc. I guess I'm overzealous in the "do it right the first time" department. That ol' truck gets me where I need to be daily, so I can't afford to be down for very long. Is this a one day job? (R & R clutch, plus flywheel resurface) If I go with a shop, any suggestions in the Dallas, Texas area (Mesquite/Rockwall/etc)?

You should be able to do it. I'm getting ready to do a auto to manual swap in mine, and the most extensive wrenching i've done is the KDP fix. Grab a good manual, and theres always really helpful and knowlegable people here who will help walk you through it. I couldn't do this swap without them...
its not to hard, like said above you always have us for questions, and having a manual on hand is helpful. As long ans nothing is leaking you should be ok with just the clutch and flywheel surface.
One thing that might save you some time is you can get a reman flywheel from places like checker, kragen, schucks, Advance, Autozone for about $50, they CNC machine them and repair or replace the starter gear.
As for which clutch to get, if your keeping the truck stock, then I would just get a stock replacement. By that I mean an actual LUK clutch, they are what comes factory in 2nd gen trucks and are a real good clutch. if you want something a little "more" the maybe a LUK pro-gold. autozone has decent prices on them, and they have lifetime warranty through autozone

With that kind of mileage, I would also either rebuild or have someone else the NV4500 or exchange it for a rebuilt one. While this is being done, see that a fully splined mainshaft is used so that the 5th gear issues are eliminated once and for all.
