Nv4500

Are all of the NV4500's the same that came in the dodge's, or are there one's with different splines for different transfer cases?

All the ones I have built have the same splines. There are different shift towers on the 97 and older ones. THat is the only difference that I know of.

like Phedge said the only difference is the top cover for the newer ones. common confusion is the shifter **** the DC put on between the trucks some say OD and some say 5 for your last gear.

V-10 and the diesel are the same, v8's had a different version, smaller input shaft IIRC. Half tons have the NV3500.

Don't the V10s have a diferent bell housing. Also according the NV4500.com the dodge gas version is a standard duty and the diesel is a HD model.

The bellhousing is not part of the NV4500 - the dual bolt patterns allow fitup to GM and Ford and Dodge bellhousings.

HD versions have provisions for power takeoff attachment - several vendors offer 1.3750" input shafts for the 13" clutch

The NV5600 bellhousing is the front bulkhead for the gearbox, with only the Dodge pattern with hi-mounted starter for the Cummins.

NV4500s from 2000 and earlier Dodge 4WD trucks with gas V8s had 23 spline output shafts vs the 29 spline output shafts in the NV4500HD models found in 4WD trucks with the diesel and V10 engines. After 2000 Dodge used only the 29 spline NV4500HD.
