NP241 rebuild

Anyone done this? Mine is leaking bad and need to be pulled and have new seals installed. It is not a shaft seal that is leaking either, it is right in the middle somplace. Can this be done in the driveway or do I need special tools? Any help is greatly appreciated.

hi
removed mine in the driveway ,took it in garage and went through it ,all new seals .
but the real leak was the seal in the rear of the trans just ahead of the transfer case.
fluid leaks from this seal and out a small slot between the trany and case , you will see when you take it apart .
go to dealer and get the trany seal $10.00.
i now have a leek free trany yahoo !!!

That is exactly where mine is leaking from, between the T-case and trans. No other issues other than it being coated from there back. Thanks for the info. Do you have a part number for that seal?
