Newb with a couple questions...
First off this is my first post. I'm not much of a poster, even on boards that I have been a member of for a long time. Second, I have never owned a Cummins powered truck... but that is something I want to change.
So this may be a complete rookie question. I know a guy that has a 1995 motor for sale for a good price. Has 186K on it. The problem is that he swapped the P-pump onto his motor and made this one a VE.
With the research I have done (TONS) the VE motor should be fine for me. I just need my truck to be a good *reliable* puller- not interested in hp over about 350. Even 300 would be fine.
Is there a reason to avoid this motor?
In my research I have heard that different years use different pistons and thus different injectors and spray patterns. How big of a deal is this?
Thanks in advance for any help!!
