New Transmission Going in...HTS

Well, 155,000 and it's about done. Getting a shudder when locking up. I tow a 5th wheel and my vehicle is a daily driver. Time to just get it done.

Have been doing my home work and it looks like I'll be going with HTS. I'm not trying to take anything away from any of the other builders out there, it's just that HTS is about 90 minutes from my house. I spoke with them, feel comfortable with the purchase, the warranty, the after warranty service, and they can get me in and out in 1/2 a day at the most (with apointment), and it may even be as soon as this saturday, next saturday at the latest (which works out well for me, no time off work).

Dusty at HTS feels I should go with the ultimate duty trans, race valve body with single lock torque converter, no billet shafts.

We talked for quite awhile before he recommended the above items. I mainly just drive the truck, but wanted to not have to worry about the occasional "getting on it" when a Ford with an attitude pulls up next to me.

I have read good things about HTS from the members here and probably would have never known about them if not for this site, and feel good about the decision, especially after talking with Dusty (and his wife Maryanne is very nice as well).

If possible, I would like to hear some feedback regarding this setup, as well as any feedback about HTS if possible. Thanks, KD

i would go with a triple disc over the single disc, you'll be much happier with it in the long run especially if you decide to bomb it any more in the future.

HTS all the way,Dusty is an awesome tranny, builder, awesome person, wonderful friend to those of us that are close to him, been doin business with Dusty for about 9 yrs now,you wont regret your choice,Although,if you do plan on doing more to your truck(we all say were done, but none of us ever stop, and i do mean never)you really should consider a triple disk and billet input.Yes they are expensive, but cheaper than taking out a tranny down the road if you do add more power.

Yes, I know, I would love to go with a triple and billets. Gotta draw the line somewhere and I am trusting what Dusty is suggesting.

Worse comes to worse, if I need to do something in the future, I feel confident he will treat me right.

I'm just glad to be getting rid of this sloppy converter I have in there now. Feels like a boat taking off. Thanks, KD

I would agree with you simply explaining what you do with the truck and what the future may hold for it, and Dusty suggesting well. Although i would also suggest a triple loc converter and billet input. He just did mine 2 months back and i just love it!
