Need some help with CAD system and also price/PN for engine mount.
Hello everyone! I couldn't find exactly what I need to know by searching these forums, so here are a couple of questions. First, how much money is a passaenger-side engine mount for my pickup and does anyone know the part number?
The second question is somewhat more involved. Yesterday, I found out that I had no 4X4 (after driving into the middle of the mudhole, of course
). Anyway, I am pretty sure that the CAD system is the culprit. I am not interested in replacing any components to fix the vac-operated stock setup, since it sucks, so I need to go a different route.
I looked into the Posi-Lock system, and it is way too much $$$$$. Even the Posi Lock kit that permanently locks frontend is like a hundred bucks! I am on a strict budget pertaining to this heap of junk (so much so that I might just go ahead and fab my own motor mount) so I need a cheap idea!
First, I see no reason why the frontend needs to be unlocked, so why not figure out a way to lock it in and leave it there. Has anyone found a cheap and easy way to do this? Also, I read on a thread here that someone has built their own "posi-lock" system. I am also interested in this if it is easy enough.
I guess that these might be dumb questions, since I can probably get something figured out after I get time to take the thing apart and look at it, but if anyone has a helpful idea I would love to hear it! Also, a diagram of the system would be awesome if someone has one! Thanks alot!

If you run the front end locked all the time, you'll chew up tires a lot faster. I don't think it would hurt anything else, but not sure on that. If I remember right, I think you can take one of the c-clips off the shaft and slide the fork on the other side of it, then put the clip back on and basically have it locked in all the time, but I can't quite remember. That would be free if it works... except for the tires.

Looks like a good setup! I hope that you can get an in-cab controller figured out. For now, maybe I should just disassemble the thing and lock in the frontend so I have 4X4. It shouldn't be TOO hard on tires, considering that the frontends under 2002+ Dodge hd pickups as well as several other 4X4s are locked in at all times and they seem to work well. This thing gets a lot of gravel road and off road use and it will not be driven on pavement very often. Anyway, thanks for the picture and the advice. I will get to this project shortly!
