im gong to buy a 95 4x4 auto tomorrow.. and dont like the auto trans but its cheap... what are some of the signs that i could see, that would tell me to stay away from it??? i just cant find a 5spd. so im settling on this. thanks in advance

 

I have as little as anyone, and it tells me that you should do a search, many, many posts on this subject.

 

Look at the tranny fluid color and smell if it's burnt.
Pull the front tires up to a curb and see if it slips or jumps the curb.

 

well on my way to look at the truck i seen a 3/4 ton sitting along the road for sale....so i stopped even tho i knew it wasnt a 4x4... started looking at the truck and seen that it was a 5pseed reg cab laramie...? huh i wondered what the price was.. 5k or so i thought. then an older gentleman hollered out the door and said ill be there in a minute.. so i looked the truck over and found no rust one baseball sized dent in the bed and no gooseneck ball...well the fella came over and said it was his fishin' truck and he used it to pull his bass boat..he told me the yar was a 94 and he had all the records on it.then he said "o its a real good ol' truck but its got 130000 miles on it and i dont fish no more cause im too old.. i thought yep a 5-6k truck for shure...then i asked him what he was wanting for it and he said "would 3000 be to much for ya". then i pooped and said let me take it for a drive and we will talk,,, drove like new.,no clanks pulling or anything. so ipulled into his driveway with it and hewas standing there with a huge manilla envelope about 2in thick. he said this here is all the recipts on the truck.. and i said sir i would be happy to give you 3k for this truck... so so muchfor the 4x4 auto now i got another gas saver that will pull anything
