MPG Gains with BHAF and Exhaust
Hey guys, just wanted to thank all the guys who recommended the BHAF. Got rid of my K&N mess and this thing is great. Love that turbo whistle over the old oiled filter. Installed a new free flow muffler too, sounds better than the crap that was there before. And I found out I had a little exhaust leak where the Cat had accidently fallen off the truck. Now its actually quieter in the cab.
Truck went from 19 mpg highway to 22.5. I don't post much here, but I've got a lot of info from you guys. While I was in the truck working mood, changed out my NV4500's oil and the transfer case, shifts are much better now. I figured it was due at 250k. I love my Beast, and I swear this mod has done more for MPG than anything else I've ever done. Cleans up smoke better too.
One quick question, is there really much advantage to the 4k Gov kit for someone like. I free rev to 3500 and get fuel under power to 3250. I pull a horse trailer somewhat often, is the 4k gonna be worth going through the pump again?

well thats a up to you thing.. not only do you have to go through the pump again bout you have to get the exhaust valve springs changed to the 60lb ones... some people at this time would just do both intake and exhaust valve springs while they are already thier

Yeah, but I think its something I need to do anyway soon. Going to do head studs eventually as I am leaning hard to going to twins. I really think twins are my best choice as two or three people are trying to talk me into laser cut DV's. I know they smoke pretty good. Its very addicting, first I wanted 300 hp, then 4, and now I want 450...and it keeps going. The truck handles and shifts a lot better since it spins up quicker with the gov springs. I just don't know if the work is worth the benefit right now.
