This thing leaks like it is going out of style i thought it was the 4 bolts on the top of the shifter cause the bolts were loose but that did not fix it i was wondering if it might be coming from the the two cases were they are put together on the aluminum and the cast iron meet im just tireed of having it leak on my driveway any help would be apreciated thanks TJ

 

There is a shaft seal on the back of the trans and also on the front of the transfer, there is no gasket between the cases. If your leak is there the rear tailshaft seal is bad.

 

The only place it can leak is the top, front and rear seal, and the 2 pto plates. Eliminate one at a time.

I was looking in the service manual and seen the three little plugs on the back of the tranny the ones that are on the shift plate look like small freeze plugs i guess i will just spray it off with carb cleaner and try to find out where it is coming from..Thanks T.J.
