lopey Idle

Hello I new to the site. I have a 1998 12 valve with 230k miles. Sometimes when the a/c is on my truck lopes and occasionally dies also when I'm stopped at a red light the oil pressure needle will go to 0 and the check guages light will light up and ding. I think this is probally a sensor. My truck is bone stock I was wanting to give it a little kick from what I've read the #10 fuel plate would work good. I still have the stock exhaust on I would like to put a 4 inch straight system on but I don't know how noisey it would be on the road I've heard that stacks are acually quiter on the road. Has anyone running a turbo megamouth had good results? I'm considering one but I don't know if they are worth $200

I'll comment about the idle. It should be set at about 750 rpms whil in drive with a/c on. Yours sounds low. Setting it at 1000 rpms while in park will put in the ballpark. See this info:http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/adjustm...d_Gen-Idle.htm

Good luck, KD

Might check your fuel pressure. Mine idled around 500rpm and ,I found out my lift pump was bad. Changed and now it idles at 750rpm.
