Negative. On the older 12v blocks, that is true. But the 53 block thats used in the 12v is the same as the 24v. My 12v even has the same engine mounts as the 24v.

The guy told me its a solid block, but Ill double check before paying, but it does appear to be fixable if it is.
Question, I ran mobile 1 synthetic in my duramax, can I run it in this thing too?

Thanks! Its got full leather interior thats had seat covers on it since new it looks like, same with carpet, has two sets of floor mats on it. Previous owner was really **** it appears so Im sure Ill be happy with it.

If it is a 53 block, use that as leverage to reduce the price. Repairing it is expensive and marginally successful, and replacing the engine with a non-53 block is the best solution. And that isn't cheap. I have a friend who had a 53 block professionally repaired, it leaked, and he wound up spending $4000 on a replacement engine.

Don't be foolish like that. The likelihood of it cracking are ridiculously slim, and if it does crack, you can pick up a 12v cheap as a replacement. You could sell the parts out of the cracked block for what you buy the replacement engine for. There's way too much hype around the 53 block.
