looking for engine to rebuild

I'm looking for a Cummins 5.9 to rebuild and just to tinker on. Anyone know where to get one. I've found junkyard engines for around $2000 but that's a little outta the price range.

Do you want an entire engine or short block? I have a short block that could be rebuilt, no head, electronics, or IP.
