Looking at a 94 3500 dually with auto and???

Going to look at a 94 Dually with an auto and 245,000 miles. Truck has Owner used truck to pull hay trailer. One day he was pulling his trailer and he said the truck lost some power and he noticed fuel leaking from a injector. Since that day he replaced the head gasket and injectors and truck still has bad idle, bluish smoke and rough running. I am thinking the injection pump is out of phase and needs to be rebuilt.

Anything else you might think would cause this?

I had a 94 that had the same symptoms and the injection pump was the culprit.

The truck I am looking at has :

hx40 turbo
50 HP injectors
#3 plate
shift kit with stock converter and trans rebuilt in the last 5000 miles.

It's possible that the pump's timing has just slipped and needs to be reset. Also, I'd check the fuel pressure first to be sure the lift pump or overflow valve haven't failed.

Thanks Torque. I have been without a 12 valve for a few years. Just trying to refresh my memory on what to look for. (:

Hey guys. I am going to look at the truck on Friday. Owner says it will blow bluish smoke at idle. And has a pulsating in the oil fuel tube. I am starting to think it might be a piston/ring issue. Any thoughts on this??

If the truck does not have any excessive blow by on the breather tube should I be alarmed? I had a 12 valve that had blue smoke and rough idle before and it was just a bad lift pump. I just don't want to buy this truck and then find out it's a internal engine problem versus a fuel issue.
