Leaking trans. hose
Leaking trans. hose
I've got a hose on the trans. cooling lines that is located off one line on pass. side under exhaust man. , the hose part is 6-8" of hose with fittings on either end , its leaking and a while back I thought I heard that some guys were replacing with hydrolic hose ,
I'ld like to get sizes for the fittings so that I can take out old and just put in new ,making one ,
Its my only transpretation so I need to go to town get parts and make at home .
Thanks.

transmission hose
The hose you described with 2 fittings,it is a check valve for the transmission, which goes to a transmission water cooled oil cooler..junk it and have a new one made.Dodge has a kit to change the lines, which go to that cooler for a 253.00 price tag.You can cut the 2 lines, flare them and ,change the 2 oil cooler fittings. The transmission fittings made with the cheesey plastic ends that you squeeze together are made for quick assembly when the truck was being built. There are replacement transmission fittings which have a steel insert that are on the transmission, which work quite well. But to remove them you need a tool to relax the insert.Dorman makes the replacement fitting.
