I am getting ready to cap my killer dowel pin tomorrow (using the TST kit and gasket from Cummins) and am also going to loctite the 5 bolts that are under the cover. Three are in the clear and two are under one of the gear wheels. There is a cut out in the gear wheel to access the two bolts, but it needs to be lined up correctly.

The question I have is, if the gear wheel isnt lined up right, how do I turn it? Can you bump the starter to get to line up or is there another way to turn it. I dont have the cover off yet, I wanted to make sure I was lined up good before I start so I can finish it tomorrow.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

using a baring tool, through the bell housing on the flywheel gears.

before the belt is off you can use the alternator nut.
