Thought I'd make a poll to see who has done what... I'm interested to see what percentage of people on the site have fixed it.
I tabbed mine.
Err sorry guys, I should have added another option. If you have had it fall out, broken something, and THEN Fixed it, select the "something broke" option.

Tab it an be done with it. It also gives you a chance to properly torque the 5case bolts and get them threadlocked. That way you dont have to worry about it. Not a hard job for the driveway mechanic. It is easier to have an extra set of hands to hold things. It is impressive to open the case and see that massve gear arrangement on the front end. Gives an appreciation for not having a timing chain.

Tabbed it.. Would have hit the pin with the drill for the jig, so tabbing seems like the more thorough approach. It was nice to check all the rest of the gear up front and replace the seal all in one shot.
My pin was out over 1/4 inch.. Wasn't very hard to tap back in either..
