Intercooler And Turbo Change Asap!!!

In a round about way you are confirming what I am trying to get at; the governor springs do have involvement in fueling other than to defuel at high idle.
FWIW, I had to go two clicks in on both springs and lower the idle stop position to get my engine to idle with the washer mod.

If you are still using a Banks plate, it will not work with any GSK.
Here's why...
The stiffer springs make the governor lever travel up the plate at a slower rate. This achieves two things:
1) a different fuel curve depending if the plate has a bump, or a cut where you want your optimum power at a particular rpm.
2) keeps the governor from defueling until either 3k or 4k rpm.
This is why with a GSK, a #10 plate with a cut right in the midrange rpm has better results than a #8 plate that has that big bump the lever first has to climb over before hitting the fuel cut at the very topend of the rpm range...in other words, no bottom end! A Banks plate is very similar to a #8.
So yes a GSK serves two functions, not just one like some incorrect folks on the previous page.
On the question about the 62/14 turbo. It is simply to big. It will be a lag pig, especially on a truck that tows 20k pounds full time. A 62/12 would be marginally better, but the 57/12 from BD would be ideal and will spool up just as quick as a stock turbo does.

I vote the Aurora 2000 if you plan on towing that much. Awesome charger with great low end characteristics and an unbelievable top end for a charger that small. Did you ever regrind your factory plate to see if that in itself will help get you away from the Banks plate? Might as well rule that out as well.
BTW - How do you like those fans? Do they cool as well as the factory fan with that big of a load? Have you noticed any fuel mileage increase since installation? How difficult was the installation? Finally, how much did the entire setup cost, if you don't mind me asking?
