I have a 1996 dodge 4x2 CTD with a auto tranny. How do you determine which auto tranny it is? Who make the best transmission filters?

If you open the hood of your truck and look up you should see a couple of labels that will have this along with other info on them.

You might try the inside of the glove box for a label that has that info. Also if you go to a dealer and ask the parts counterman if he will print you a build list, that will have everything that the truck came from the factory with. It's usually free all you need is the VIN.
