I have a BIG pump!
Well, big for me. My truck should have the 160hp pump, but my CPL didn't match the pump. So I called Piers Diesel, turns out, from the numbers on my pump, its a 175hp pump. From what I could tell, everything was stock. Thats okay, I'm not complaining, I could use a few extra horses
I had to have my pump replaced recently.
I have all my work done by the local Cummins shop, the've come to know me well.
When it came time to replace my pump (Stock was the 160), they replaced it with a Re-con Cummins 175 as well.
Rich.

The 175 pump with labor was just a bit over $2000.00 (I also had them replace the fuel shut-off solenoid, change oil, fuel filter, and replace the rubber fuel return line).
Anyway, the 175 pump listed somewhere around $1500 (I dont recall the exact price) and the 215 pump listed around $2200.
I understand that the replacement of the 160 pump with the 175 (For the automatic trucks) is common based on what the automatics are built to handle.
Cummins doesnt want to be responsible for smoking transmissions.

I was thinking maybe someone screwed up and put the 175 pump on mine thinking it was going to be a standard. Who cares, it actually satisfied my bomb craving for like, 6 hours!

Did you get a 215 or a 175? There is a cummins rebuilt 215 pump on a 5.9 in our shop, I'm trying to see what it would take to swap. My pump puts out a whole lot more than 215 anyway. Whatever bus it goes into would run nice
