The passenger side rear brake adjuster on my '95 keeps over adjusting. The brake will continue to tighten untill I have to go under the truck and loosen off the adjuster. What is the problem?

It is WAY too cold here now to do anything about it now but it is strange that it just suddenly started. I had the wheels off and cleaned, lubed and adjusted everything a year and a half ago but the problem only started a few months back - only on the passenger side.

What should I check when it does get warm enough. I don't use the truck much in the winter so it is not a big issue to un-adjust every couple of weeks, just a pain to crawl under the truck in the cold and snow. I know usually the problem is the adjusters do NOT work.

 

My bet is the spring that retracts the adjuster was incorrectly installed, came off or broke.
