How many starters in 2009?
Some may have read of my 4- year old starter failing this spring. Replaced with a rebuilt unit from O'riely's which failed in less than a week. Replaced that with a "100% factory New" unit from O'riely's (at no charge) and now, three months later, I had to get under the truck today after lunch and tap on the starter to get it to turn over - just a click otherwise.
Fortunetly, our localy O'riely's has a good return policy, and it'll be covered, but gosh - how much practice do I need changing this out? Anyone else been through three starters in less than a year? What an accomplishment....

Almost sounds like the starter contacts. Might want to take the Solenoid cover off the new one and look at the contacts. I know this, lifetime warranty or not, when I put a new one on Greenie, Foster truck oversized contacts are going in.

You might want to check your starter bolts. I've had to lock-tite mine, as they have a bad tendency to back out. I only noticed after one fell all the way out, and the other two were loose. The starter lost contact with the bellhousing, and wouldn't crank....
I'm using the O'riely's in Chillicothe, IL, just a little ways from you...
Thanks for the reply's so far. I'll check the bolts and consider lock-titing them.
