help won't start

I have a 95 12 valve with 148,000 k on her. I had her out last Sunday no problems brought her home let her cool down shut her off. This Thursday evening went out to start no go just cranks no coughs no sputters but the abs light stays lit don't if has anything to do with issue but only abnormality I saw. In Vancouver Canada not cold 1/4 tank of fuel.Any ideas please?

Have you checked the fuel shutdown solenoid? It is on the back of the injection pump. Turn the key to the on position and bump the starter, then without turning the key off see if the plunger is up, it should be.

ya that sounds like the shutoff solenoid. check that out and let us know

fix

Turned out to be some wires on the battery that looked intact but fell off when touched. Cleaned them up new connector and BOOM life.
Big thanks to all. Still the best site and most helpfull People Cummins forever.

Corroded blue wire at the battery, probably the most common problem with a 12 valve. Pretty cheap to fix too.
If you would have taken it to the dealer they would have replaced the shutdown solenoid, charged you $500 and the problem would reoccur a few miles down the road.
