If you can drive a 5 speed to compare, I would, because I am totally satisfied with the manual trans, less to worry about in my experience. Everything has it's weak points and is somewhat prone to failure sometime, but I trust the 5 speed more. With a used trans my whole setup (with new clutch and flywheel) was somewhere just over $3k, and pretty easy to do. Not much in hard parts difference between the auto vs manual, so everything is right there ready for the manual setup.

PS how cold is it there in TX?

 

I prefer driving a stick I got the auto because my wife can't drive a stick I told her I'll teach her so I finally got her convinced on that, I'm still weighing my options if I do the swap I want it to look as close to factory as possible... Problem there is finding a donor truck lol

Curruntly at this moment it's about 56 outside but by the time I get home and start working on other projects it's cooling off and gets down in the low twentys and teens lol prolly not cold to y'all but I'm used to the heat lol

 

Well I'm gonna go ahead and do the 5 speed swap I'm getting a good deal on all the parts for 1000 bucks and it all only has about 120000 miles on it. I'm hoping to get started on this next week hopefully all goes well with it any tips on this would be great thanks
