Help
WHILE DRIVING MY CHECK ENGINE AND A COUPLE OTHER LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND SOON AFTER I LOST TE SPEEDO AND MY TACH STARTED BOUNCING AND THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT WOULDNT COME ON. MY TRANS WOULDNT SHIFT EITHER.
Check the sensor right up front on your crankshaft balancer. It sits right on top, just look down by the fan, you will see it. Get some electrical contact cleaner and spray the heck out of it.
It is a magnetic (hall effect) sensor, it senses the gap or the two notches on the harmonic balancer. If dirt is on that sensor, it will affect everything you just mentioned.
Check the wires and the connection of the sensor as well. The wires can get rubbed and exposed. There is a "how to" at dodgeram.org and normally I would post the link, but sorry running short on time. Hope this helps, Kevin
