heater core
heater core
I understand there have already been posts about this but I want to clarify my specific situation:
I have a 97 dodge 12 valve. No cabin heat. My AC works fine, blower motor fine. Sometimes my selector, defrost, floor, face, etc. doesn't work, i still need to check the lines on the back (unrelated i think). I have a two tank vegetable oil ssytem. When I have coolant flowing to the heater core, my oil seems to run colder, so i usually just have it blocked (wiht a ball valve).
I went to tahoe couple weeks ago but before i went tried cahnging the heater core and what a pain! Took off the whole dash, but in oder to get the **** thing out, it said i need to discharge the ac system and pull out the AC/heater unit (is there a way around this?)
I bought a whole new selector that i still need to put in and try (the unit where are all three ***** are connected to.
I still need to try and flush out the core with the garden hose (i dont have access to an air compressor).
I'm thinking my heater core is clogged and needs to be changed or unclogged. I would rather change it then have it clog up again sometime soon. An easier way of doing this? suggestions?
