That is correct. We rotate the whole pump relative to the engine with a 1st gen--the pump drive gear has a keyway and only goes on one way. P-pumps do NOT move relative to the engine. Rather, the pump drive gear is pressed onto the shaft of the pump which has a taper to it. Little bit more trickey than the ole 've
