Harder to start
Harder to start
did some mods to my P pump the other day, & now it takes considerably longer to start. I turned in the smoke screw some, moved the fuel plate to full forward, & tighted the detent washer on the gov springs 2 clicks each. When I started it back up, the idle had raised a fwe hundred rpm. I turned it back down where it was (about 500rpm), & since the follwing day, it's taking almost 2 full sec. of cranking to start. Before it started immediately at 500 rpm.
Any thoughts?

With the engine at operating temp, trans in drive, A/C on, idle should be in the 700 to 750 range. If you get in the habit of pushing the skinny pedal in about 1/2 inch before turning the key the engine should start on the first revolution.
