Guages in, couple questions

Had a few questions regarding readings on my stock 95. Pyro is pre turbo. Crusing at 70 mph and 2K rpm flat ground with camper on Im getting about 850 on the pyro and 11 psi boost. I have tried to hit max EGT`s and it seems to be only 950 which is nice, thats boggin in 5th uphill with it floored.
At shut down its hard to get below 300 degrees ideling, it just wont go down much after a freeway run. Is 325 to 350 OK ??
Thanks a bunch.

Sounds like your running stock. Those numbers sound right hauling a slide in camper at 70 mph. My 95 auto runs those temps, its hard to hit 1000 without WOT and a long hill, empty its about 650 to 700 at 70 mph. My exhaust is stock.

Sounds the same as my 3500 with a 1800 lb camper.
If I waited to hit 300 for shut down it would take all day, 350-400 has worked fine for me for over ten years.

Thanks guys, Thats what I figured just couldent remember good numbers. Like you said Infidel, It would take hours it seems to drop to 300 at idle. I will say disabeling the wastegate per your advice makes quite a bit of temp diff, tried both ways and it drops it down a good 100 degrees when I try to heat things up.
Man these trucks really shine on a long trip, nothin like 16 mpg with the camper compared to the 8 mpg in the gasser.

You got that right. These engines love cruising at the same rpm hour after hour.
I pity a Cummins engine used in stop and go daily driver situation.
