I am going to look at a 97 3500 Club Cab 5 speed with 89k miles on it. Can you guys give me some pointers of what to look for? Is body rust a problem on these years, anything to look for on the mechanical end such as pump performance, engine etc. HOw can I tell if the KDP has been done, anything to look for there? Rear End or front end issues, been mainly looking at 2001-2002 trucks and know these dont have the VP-44 issue, but was wondering what else to look for. Also, how are the 12V on power in stock form and is it hard to make them interstate and power friendly. I am looking at everything from this, to 24V 2001,2002, 2003-2005 and even some 2007 trucks. I just need a good truck that looks nice and performs reliably.

KDP, there's no real way to tell if it has been done or not. Only pulling it apart or the previous owner(s) can tell you.
I love my '95, & it has plenty of power in stock for for me anyways.
